The Helsingin Sanomat Data desk is the leading data journalism team in Scandinavia. Our award-winning team has produced ground-breaking interactives, data journalism and video graphics for the digital platforms of Helsingin Sanomat since 2011. We are a team of eleven coders, journalists and graphic designers.

Now we are looking for a

DESIGNER-DEVELOPER

You would work as a member of our editorial staff, where your job would be to create immersive stories and interactive data-driven visualizations for Helsingin Sanomat. Daily you would design and develop interactive journalism for our web site and native applications. You would work alongside our journalists and other staff.

We expect the following skills:
- Talent in graphic design or in visual journalism
- Talent in front-end coding (Javascript, Jquery, HTML, CSS)
- Abitility to work under pressure and with non-technical teams
- Fluent English or Finnish

We offer the opportunity to create new kind of digital and interactive journalism for an audience of several million people, with the only constraints set by your own skill and creativity. You would work with highly motivated, skilled and forward-looking people with ambitions set to a global level. The Data desk is located in Sanomatalo in central Helsinki.
